Service Description

Creative Strategies to Explore Adolescent Identity Adolescence is a fun and stressful time, fraught with friendships, school and social pressure, commitments, and obligations. This workshop unpacks the science behind identity exploration with teens. In our workshop, we will break the day into two parts. In the first, we will talk about philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience related to the concept of the self. We will focus on what research suggests for adolescence. In part two, we will discover a Gestalt Play Therapy approach to exploring identity. At the end of the workshop, you’ll learn at least 2 Gestalt Play Therapy strategies to use with teens. Come ready to create and discuss, we will explore and practice activities for the quintessential question of adolescence, “Who am I?” Objectives: Participants will review at least 2 research articles on adolescent identity development. Participants will learn and practice two Gestalt Play Therapy approaches to foster adolescent identity development. Participants will articulate 1 Gestalt Play Therapy strategy or concept that can apply to their work with future adolescents/clients. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation notice must be received two weeks in advance (four weeks for intensive programs) of the program starting dates. The registration fee may not be refunded for a last minute notification. Notification must be in writing to WCI either through email or snail mail. With this notice, paid fees can be refunded or applied to a future program if available for registration at the time of cancellation. If for any reason, WCI cancels a program, all fees will be refunded. WCI is not responsible for any travel or lodging costs due to cancellations. For Groups: should any group member(s) cancel or not complete any remaining balance for any reason, leaving only one individual as part of the group, the discounted amount will be payable by the remaining member for their individual registration.
